Detail of the reverse side of 10 inch Columbia Disc Record silver ring label No 37. Produced between Sept. and Nov. 1902. The record hole has a metal grommet. The back of the record is blank and includes the embossed "PAT APP'D FOR" statement seen on the backs of Climax records made for Columbia (The patent would be granted Nov. 25, 1902.). When played, the record begins with a spoken announcement stating "Waltz from the Comic opera Maid Marian. Played by Headrow's Orchestra. Climax Records." The image has been slightly enhanced to show patent statement.
