10 inch Columbia Disc Record silver ring label produced between Sept. and Nov. 1902. This is the first version of this label variety. There are no prize notices, patent or copyright information listed on the label. The record hole has a metal grommet. The back of the record is blank and includes embossed "PAT APP'D FOR" statement found on the Climax Records manufactured for Columbia (The patent would be granted Nov. 25, 1902.). When played, the record begins with a spoken announcement stating "Waltz from the Comic opera "Maid Marian." Played by Headrow's Orchestra. Climax Records."
